Zooooming! to the Green Shoots Walled Garden

Yes, it's almost summer time and sun is blazing - well nearly! Anyway - it is a splendid season for Zoooom! to visit the H2O Green Shoots Walled Garden as it begins to bloom and blossom, and to meet up with John and Catriona, the Green Shoots team. And that's exactly what we did recently. The Zooomers! were sent off with the task of clicking some good 'promo' shots of the garden, followed by a nice cup of tea.
We are in the season of getting out and about, and so next on the Zoooom! agenda is a trip to Edinburgh with the National Museum of Scotland on the list of 'must-see' places.

Off to Glasgow - POWERPOINT!

The recent POWERPOINT Christian youth event in  Glasgow saw members of Xplore heading off via  various fast food establishments for a fun and Jesus-filled evening with young folks from all over Scotland. The POWERPOINT band led the gathering in worship, and a thoughtful, relevant message was shared by Bob Wallington of One Life.
Plans are already underway to again head south to the final event of the season in June, when we are hoping to team up with eXp Dunoon to spend some quality post-event time together, avoiding take-away establishments if possible.

Taking Smurf-like Blue to a new Depth!

GFG gathered recently, youth workers in their 'smurf-like' hoodies (as described at OHS) and on this occasion 'smurf-like' tongues, with Jenny Whytock, previously of Oban and more recently of Iris Ministries in Mozambique. What a great opportunity for GFG'ers to hear of some of what goes on in another part of the world and particularly of the impact Jesus is having on lives.
We wish Jenny every blessing as she continues to follow God's call on her life, to wherever in the world that may be next.

Another Day, Another Cafe!

Further to Conversation Cafe's 1 and 2, H2O have continued to gather with young folks of Oban High School, meeting for Cafe Number 3 at The Well, base of H2O. Prior to the event, a mini-transformation of the premises took place using a team of interior designers, employing top cake-makers and making use of a coffee machine to die for. But seriously, we did our best to create a cafe ambiance, we were the grateful recipients of some tremendous cakes (thank you cake volunteers) and a special thanks goes to a certain head teacher for a loan of a splendid coffee maker.
Meanwhile, the Cafe Chat was splendid, around 'Memorable Moments' and 'Bucket Lists', the minds were temporarily drawn from exam/ revision stress AND we all enjoyed The Well in Cafe mode.
Our plan is to meet once more in June prior to the summer break and hope to continue Conversation Cafe in the Autumn after the summer break. Here's some feedback from Conversation Cafe participants about what's been good so far.....
·         Free expression. Good chat. No judgement. Fun!
·         Making friends/ Something to get excited about during the week/ Helps with my social anxiety.
·         It’s great to find people that have the same and different thoughts/ it makes for good convo!
