H2O with local partners tell the Rank Oban Story in Blackpool

Representatives from Atlantis Leisure, Oban Youth Cafe and Hope 2 Oban recently took part in the Rank Foundation celebrations of 60 years of the founder, J Arthur Rank, supporting charities and projects around the UK.
For the event, which took place at the Blackpool Hilton Hotel, the above presentation was created to tell the story of the partnership working that takes place in Oban with the support of the Rank Foundation.
Over 300 guests took part in the day-long event telling the Rank History and providing many opportunities to discover more of the work of the Foundation, built on the strong Christian faith of its founder. The day concluded with an on-stage interpretative performance based on the founder's life and guiding principles.
Our thanks go to the Rank Foundation, who currently support the work of the three Oban-based projects mentioned above and several others in Argyll.

Glencruitten Hostel- Stramash Sessions End With A Splash!

As the nights start to draw in, so the last of the outdoor sessions has taken place for the young folk if Glencruitten Hostel with Stramash. Rachel joined the crew at Ganavan fro some twilight Coasteering in the balmy waters around Oban.
The series of six sessions before and after the summer break was made possible through funding from BBC Children in Need, providing opportunities for S6 and the new S1 pupils from the Inner Hebrides to take part in Gorge Walking, Coasteering, Team Building and Archery.
These sessions have been an ideal way to assist new S1 pupils to adapt to a different rhythm of life, living away from home through the school week.
