Smiles in the Sun as Youth Workers visit the H2O Green Shoots Walled Garden

The sun was shining, the kettle was on and there was even a bit of cake! A recent visit to the Walled Garden by the local network of folks who work alongside young people in the Oban area provided the ideal opportunity for all to check out the facilities and get the ideas ticking away as to possible future work alongside young people. It was also a splendid opportunity for folks to meet John and Catriona Petit, the Green Shoots project team, and to start to consider how this marvelous facility might be used to benefit local folk, young and not so young, gardeners and definite non-gardeners.
As H2O look forward to our official launch of the garden at the end of August, these following weeks are providing the space and time to meet potential partners and to complete foundational groundwork.
A big thanks to all who came along on the day.

Sunday Sofa trips to Israel

The latest in the Sunday Sofa series saw Stuart Lawson interviewing Rev's Archie McPhail and Iain McFarlane, further to their recent visits to Israel.
Iain, who has been to the area many times, shared his reflections on how the region had changed over the many years he had been visiting.
Archie, new to the area and on his first trip, gave an insight into the tensions of the region alongside the special impact that particular towns, villages and landmarks, spoken of in scripture, can have on visitors to the region.
Prior to the interviews, the gathering were led in worship through songs, Psalms and prayers in Hebrew, setting the scene for the chat ahead.
A big thank you from Hope 2 Oban to all concerned, particularly those who shared from the comfy chairs.
