Well woven together at Glencruitten Hostel

Willow Weaving with Tara

Young folk from Glencruitten School Hostel have entered the world of Willow weaving. The first introductory session was led by the talented Tara Coia, Learning and Events Officer from Dunollie House. Within no time, lengths of willow became globes and cats and fish and all sorts. This is the first in a series of sessions with Tara which will continue after the summer break. The current plan is to hone willow weaving skills to create models and structures to adorn the currently undecorated garden area alongside plant and vegetable developments. Many thanks go to Tara for her availablilty and enthusiasm to share her talents. Watch this space for updates!
A happy willow weaver!
